About Us

Our Mission

Helping veterans in need.

Our Vision

Gateway Warrior Foundation aims to be the prominent voice for veterans in St. Louis.

Our Purpose

To aid military veterans in recovery, assimilation back into civilian life, and achieving their life's potential.

Our founder

Master Gunny Sgt. Leonard "Lennie" P.  Miller

Lennie retired as a Master Gunnery Sgt. from the United States Marine Corps after an impressive 36-year career.  After retiring from the Marine Corps he became National Sales Manager for Jeld-Wen Corporation where he later retired.  Lennie was a member of the Marine Corp League; he enjoyed golfing and playing poker and he truly loved spending his free time with his children and grandchildren.

In 2010 Lennie decided it was time to do more for our nations veterans returning home and with the help of close friends decided to create the Gateway Warrior Foundation to "help veterans in need". Foundation has raised more than $1.5 million for our nation's veterans! Sadly,  Lennie lost his battle with cancer on Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at the age of 66, surrounded by his loving family.  He was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all.
